Andrew J. Nemr & CPD Plus

Andrew J. Nemr is unique among his generation, having been mentored by a venerable who’s who of the tap dance world including Dr. Jimmy Slyde, Dr. Henry LeTang, Gregory Hines, and Savion Glover. He is the Artistic Director and lead dancer of CPD PLUS (Cats Paying Dues). Andrew’s one-of-a-kind style incorporates Jazz and Tap in a never before seen fusion. He is the only Tap Artist of his generation to use a Tap Instrument: a modular floor, six inches off the ground, with a proprietary amplification technique highlighting the dancer’s rhythms. Percussive sounds generated by the dancers accompany live Jazz Musicians to create a fully assembled band. The result is a truly memorable experience of classic and contemporary style.

Nemr and CPD PLUS’ 2008 season “Where the Music Lives” was described as “a welcome return to the elegance of simplicity and the tap dancer as maker of aural magic” by exploredance.com.

There are three available formats: NEFA awarded-Echoes in Time, Where the Music Lives and Cats Paying Dues in Concert. To learn more about these offerings please see “additional information”.

Tap Dance Instrument

All 23 PRiME productions utilize a Tap Dance Instrument for optimal sound quality in the performance.

Designed by Rob Harari, production designer for the late Gregory Hines, the Instrument assures the highest level of sound quality and acoustic consistency for the presentation of tap dance. With specialized audio design techniques developed over 15 years of touring, the Instrument truly elevates the production and facilitates the most unique of listening experiences.

With a modular design the Instrument can be set up to accommodate a wide variety of venues, including small to large theaters, corporate events, and clubs.
