Catapult  is a shadow-illusion dance company!  They use dance, theater, music and  magical body transformations to tell stories and amaze audiences while doing so.   Founded in 2009, by Adam Battelstein (choreographer, Creative Director and Master Teaching Artist for Pilobolus Dance Theatre for 19 years), Catapult catapulted to fame on Season 8 of America’s Got Talent, earning their way to the finals of the NBC-TV hit show.

Catapult’s “Magic Shadows”  is a show packed with hundreds of astounding shape transformations - and that would be achievement enough for any magic show!  But Catapult uses those illusions to tell fantastic stories,  stories that make you laugh out loud and stories that are full of pathos.

With the arc of an arm, the point of a toe or the twist of a torso, Catapult’s dancers stretch their bodies, and your imaginations, telling stories with humor and pathos by transforming themselves into a mountain, an elephant, a dragon, a helicopter a rocket ship and way way more.  A great show for the whole family – full of laughs, emotions and miraculous transformations. You will leave this show dazed and happy, and you will never look at your own shadow the same way again!

Magic Shadows has a run time of 75 minutes plus intermission.  A shorter version, without intermission, is avaialble for school shows. Catapult also offers residencies and workshops on shadow dance in conjuction with performances, for students and teachers.
